Safe cross-border pursuit - trainings in safe driving
In the framework of the project trainings on safe driving were conducted, including the following elements:
1) High-speed slalom on the sliding surface - exercise simulating taking over of series of obstacles on a surface with low adhesion; officers learn the proper technique for turning and controlling the track, even in the event of slippage of the front or rear axle. Exercise is performed at a speed rendering the conditions which the driver may encounter when driving on roads.
2) Taking turns dynamically on variable surfaces - the participants, with the guidance of a trainer, overcome winding, complicated route, which fragments are characterized by a very low grip (slip ring. The student learns to adapt speed to driving conditions. Exercises on-road - performed at considerable speeds, but in a safe environment during which participants will learn the correct driving track, braking and acceleration techniques; exercise performed on a special track for road riding.
3) The emergency lane changes - exercise performed on the slippery surface. Trainees under the supervision of a coach learn to control the slides of the front and rear axles of the vehicle produced both during and after an emergency maneuver to change lanes.
4) Driving on the circle of recovery from slipping and sliding by adding gas - during the exercise students will learn the technique of controlling the slip of the rear axle via the accelerator pedal.
5) Controlled turn of the car of 360 degrees - trainees learn proper behavior in the event of the vehicle slips ended with a rotation of 360 degrees, both right and to the left. Exercise is performed at high speed and reflects the real conditions during on-road driving in difficult conditions.
6) Efficiency Test on time taking a curve with a low grip - the first test of the skills acquired throughout the program; exercise carried out at high speeds.
7) Efficiency Test on time on slippery surface - second test of skills acquired throughout the program; exercise carried out at high speeds; during exercise among trainees overcome a series of curves with different angles set out, inter alia, on the slippery surface.
8) Elements of cross-border pursuit
The training was attended by a total of 360 officers and police staff from regional police headquarters of Lublin , Podkarpacie , Podlasie and Warmia - Mazury and Mazowieckie (Prevention and Road Traffic Bureau of the National Police Headquarters ). Trainings were held in September and November 2015. Throughout the duration of the training , each of the participants had at his/her disposal an authorized individual instructor experienced in training on special driving techniques . Training took place on a professionally prepared maneuvering using proper equipment. Each participant received a certificate of completion of training.
